4 — It is always useful to make tests and models of ideas that go in off directions. Either you realize that you were working too hard on something not so great or you get confirmed on the rightness of your work and the odd idea gets put aside. This one got put aside.

7 — Originally I wanted to have the bench covered in rust, but we did not find a reliable way of closing the surface to make it stable, safe and easy to clean. If powder coated the rust could eat through. To simulate rust we developed a new technique of duotone powder coating that involves spraying with two pistols at the same time. It was not used for the final piece.

8 — The density of perforation is not enough here and the shaping is very difficult. Also the ends of the tri-star holes are too narrow.

12 — With these models it became cleat that the shadow of the bench will be an essential aspect of its visual effect.
