2 — First prototypes were made from beech wood and their quality was rather poor. We used them just to fine-tune the proportions of the barstool and to work out the production process.

3 — Milling of typography in wood is not ideal, because quality requires very slow tool operation. Once the speed goes up or also if the wood density changes the quality drops down unexpectedly. Thats why we started using laser engraving which is literally flawless.

5 — Beech wood is attractive with its completely homogenous structure and closed surface. It is very easy to finish and delivers an almost artificial feeling. Ash wood was the choice after all since it has a more expressive texture and keeps its shape reliably.

6 — This is painted beech wood without any filler underneath the paint. Close up it looks good, but once you move away all the natural details are inapparent and the whole object sort of suddenly denies its material.
